Attorney Lisa Goldman assumes leadership role of lawyers strike force

Press Release - August 12, 2009

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Madison Wisconsin) Attorney Lisa Goldman has assumed the chair position of the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (WACDL) Lawyers' Strike Force.

The mission of WACDL's Lawyer Strike Force is to provide counsel to members who are hassled by over zealous prosecutors and/or judges when all the lawyer is doing is what the Sixth Amendment commands, zealously representing the citizen accused. The Lawyers' Strike Force represents lawyers threatened with or found in contempt, reported to the Office of Lawyer Regulation, had privileged information subpoenaed, called as a witness against current or former clients, threatened with charges and the like.

Recently Attorney Goldman authored WACDL's response to the District Attorneys Association petition relating to Rule 20:3.8. WACDL recommended the Court adopt the American Bar Association's Model Rule language defining the duties and obligations of prosecutors relating to wrongfully convicted persons.
