Safety Violations and Disfigurement Payments
You may be eligible for benefits if you sustains a permanent disfigurement that causes a potential loss of wages. This could include a permanent limp sustained as a result of a work injury.
If an employer fails to comply with any state statute or any administrative rule of the Department of Workforce Development and if the violation is a cause of your injury, the employer must pay a 15% penalty. The amount is based on the amount of "primary" compensation paid by the insurance carrier.
