Hello, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about myself and Lawton & Cates. I hope you find our website to be a helpful and informative tool as you search for legal services. Although our website contains a wealth of information, I encourage you to contact me directly so we can discuss your particular legal situation in a confidential manner. There is no cost or obligation of any kind associated with our initial consultation.
I was admitted to the Wisconsin Bar in 2006 after graduating cum laude from Marquette University Law School. After graduation, I worked as an Assistant District Attorney where I learned the inner workings of our criminal justice system firsthand and sharpened my trial advocacy skills.
I left the District Attorney’s office so I could focus on helping people achieve justice. In my practice, I focus 100% on litigation. Put simply, my clients seek me out to represent and defend them when the stakes are the highest. In my criminal practice I have successfully obtained not guilty verdicts in high stakes cases ranging from Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide, First Degree Sexual Assault, and Possession of Child Pornography among others.
In my civil practice, I focus on being a zealous advocate for those who have been injured by someone’s negligence or at work. Put simply, I do everything that I can to ensure my clients obtain the best possible outcome to their case. If the insurance companies will not agree to pay full compensation for your injuries, I proudly exercise your right to a civil jury trial and force the insurance company to defend against your claim in court.
I believe I have developed a reputation as a fierce and respected advocate by attorneys and judges throughout Wisconsin. I am a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and although I work out of our Madison office, I have handled cases all over the State. I am also a member of the Wisconsin Association for Justice, American Inns of Court, and the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Prior to attending law school, I served in the United States Army as a Cavalry Officer stationed at various posts throughout the United States. I am a passionate supporter of our military veterans and proudly serve on the Veteran’s Advisory Board. In addition, I volunteer at the Veteran’s Law Center and remain active in other veteran’s causes.
