Can I change my attorney after a divorce action has been filed?

Attorney Shane Falk discusses what is important to consider when changing attorneys after a divorce has been filed.

Any person has a right to change their attorney after a divorce is filed. There are two considerations in making that change. One is where you are in the process and if it makes sense to do so. Number two is if the person you are going to hire, whether it be me or somebody else, is able to take the case and has enough time to prepare to move into the final phases of your case if you're that far along. All it requires is a substitution of attorney form that's filed with the court that officially changes your council from your prior council to the new council the new person you've hired.
