Can maintenance be modified?

Rassa Ahmadi answers question about how maintenance can be modified.

Maintenance can be modifed upon the motion by either of the party in the case. The modification of maintenance requires that you prove what's called a substantial change in financial circumstances. This can mean many different things. Things that can affect whether or not your financial circumstances have changed can be whether or not your income has changed, whether or not you're living with a significant other, or whether you've even remarried. At Lawton & Cates we have worked with many clients to help them to continue to meet their financial goals. This can be in helping them to seek a modification of maintenance or help defend them against one.
